How it Works

This tool converts your data into a high-contrast QR matrix:

Encoding: Transforms URLs, text, or WiFi info into a 2D barcode.
Error Correction: Uses Reed-Solomon logic to keep codes scannable even if slightly damaged.
High Quality: Generates a clean PNG image ready for print or digital use.

Common Use Cases

QR codes are perfect for bridging the gap between offline and online:

Marketing: Add links to flyers, posters, and business cards.
Guest Access: Share WiFi credentials without typing long passwords.
Business: Display digital menus or event check-in links.

Best Practices for QR Codes

Keep data short: Too much data makes the QR code denser and harder to scan. Use URL shorteners if needed.
Add white margin: QR codes need quiet zones (blank space) around them; our generator adds a border automatically.
Test scanning: Always test the generated QR code with multiple devices to ensure readability.
Size matters: Print at a reasonable size (at least 1x1 cm) to maintain clarity.
Error correction: Use High (H) if the QR code will be on surfaces that might get partially covered or damaged.

Frequently Asked Questions

A QR code can hold up to about 3,000 alphanumeric characters, but practical limits depend on error correction and version. The more data you put, the denser the code, and the larger it needs to be to remain scannable. For long texts, consider linking to a hosted document instead.

That's the usual appearance of a QR code: black modules (squares) arranged in a grid with position markers (the large squares at corners). The pattern ensures scanners can detect orientation and perspective. As long as the contrast is high and the modules are well-defined, it will scan.

This generator produces black-and-white QR codes only. While colored QR codes are possible, they can reduce scannability if the contrast is insufficient. For reliability, stick to high contrast (black on white) or use custom colors carefully.

The QR code image itself does not expire; it's a static representation of data. However, if the QR code points to a URL, that URL may become invalid over time. Ensure the destination remains accessible if you plan to use the QR code long-term.
