How does this tool work?

  • Enter monthly salary: Your gross or net monthly pay.
  • Enter days worked in the month: How many days you actually worked (excluding holidays, vacations).
  • Optionally enter total working days in month: Usually the total business days; if blank, we assume 22 weekdays.
  • Calculate: The tool computes proportional salary based on days worked.
  • See result: Your adjusted pay for the partial period.

This calculator prorates a monthly salary based on the number of days actually worked. It’s useful when starting or leaving a job mid-month, taking unpaid leave, or adjusting payroll for partial periods.

How to calculate days worked?

To calculate the salary balance, our tool uses inclusive counting. If you worked from the 1st to the 10th, that counts as 10 days. The financial calculation is based on a 30-day divisor, following the standard payroll practice for monthly employees.

Proportional Salary Calculation

By entering your base salary, the system divides the amount by 30 to find your daily rate and multiplies it by the period worked. This is the ideal tool to check the gross amount due for terminations or new hires starting mid-month.

Work Days FAQ

For monthly payroll calculations, a standard 30-day business month is used. This means the daily rate is fixed, simplifying the days worked calculation and ensuring standardized proportional payments.

Unlike a standard date calculator, a work days calculation for HR must include the first day of work. For example, from the 1st to the 5th of the month, the calculator recognizes that 5 days of service were provided.

The salary balance is the gross amount owed for the days worked in the month of departure. Simply enter the date from the 1st of the month to the last day worked to get the exact proportional value that should appear on your settlement.

No. This tool provides the gross value proportional to the days worked. To find the net amount, you must apply official tax deductions to the result obtained here.
