How does this tool work?
-
Enter monthly salary: Your gross or net monthly pay.
-
Enter days worked in the month: How many days you actually worked (excluding holidays, vacations).
-
Optionally enter total working days in month: Usually the total business days; if blank, we assume 22 weekdays.
-
Calculate: The tool computes proportional salary based on days worked.
-
See result: Your adjusted pay for the partial period.
This calculator prorates a monthly salary based on the number of days actually worked. Itβs useful when starting or leaving a job mid-month, taking unpaid leave, or adjusting payroll for partial periods.
How to calculate days worked?
To calculate the salary balance, our tool uses inclusive counting. If you worked from the 1st to the 10th, that counts as 10 days. The financial calculation is based on a 30-day divisor, following the standard payroll practice for monthly employees.
Proportional Salary Calculation
By entering your base salary, the system divides the amount by 30 to find your daily rate and multiplies it by the period worked. This is the ideal tool to check the gross amount due for terminations or new hires starting mid-month.
